REMINDER: ALP Capital Funding Available in 2019 Through a New Process

As NYSCAL previously reported December 6, 2018, sometime in January 2019 information is scheduled to go out once the program is approved. There is $20 million of capital involved in this round. It will be pooled out by DOH. It will be an RFP those goes out and Providers will have to submit RFP through Grants Gateway.

Please Note: If a Provider is looking for ALP beds with Capital funding attached to it; there will be more up-front work that will be required.  Providers will also be required to submit RFP thru Grants Gateway online.  Evaluation process will consider who needs the capital in order to apply for beds.  The CON will be changed and an additional piece added (still in draft at DOH). If no Capital Funding is needed, the process won’t require the upfront work.

The NYS Grant Gateway is a portal that most members are not familiar with. If you intend to apply for ALP beds, you should begin the education process now by registering your organization of Grants Gateway.

Registration involves completing paperwork that needs to be notarized. The registration process can take up to two weeks. You will need to assign two USERS in your community who will handle the activity on Grants Gateway.

Once grant applicants identify the opportunity they want to apply for, there are multiple steps to complete registration, the Prequalification process (for nonprofits, only), completing an application, managing awarded contracts, and submitting claims for payment.  Resources, include live webinars and recorded videos, to help guide your organization through the process using Grants Gateway. Once more information is available from DOH, NYSCAL will provide an update on “next steps”. You need to participate in the training webinars prior to applying for the ALP RFA. Schedules for training are listed below.

  • Registration and Prequalification are offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
  • Grant Application is offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
  • How to manage your ALP contract is offered Mondays at 1:00 p.m.

This is the link to the new Grants Gateway Program Training Resource Page.  Registering does not require that you apply for the ALP RFA, it is simply the first steps in being prepared if you decide to move forward. The earlier you start puts you a step closer to the new RFA.
