National Drug Take-Back Day: Deadline for Participation is March 10, 2017

As you know, the disposal of prescription drugs presents unique challenges to the safety of our community and environment.  The National Prescription Pill Take-Back Day provides a safe and convenient way for facilities like yours to dispose of these potentially dangerous controlled substances in an expedient manner.  The New York State (NYS) Department of Health, Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (BNE) has advised that those facilities/programs licensed by the BNE as a Class 3A Institutional Dispenser Limited, who wish to participate in the DEA National Take Back must complete and submit the requisite disposal/destruction forms (Approval of Disposal/Destruction of Controlled Substances (DOH-2340), and Controlled Substance Inventory Form (DOH-166)) to the applicable BNE office.  In order to participate in the Take Back Event THESE TWO COMPLETED FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE APPROPRIATE BNE REGIONAL OFFICE ON OR BEFORE MARCH 10, 2017.
