Emergency Preparedness Advanced Warning System Registration

Carla Erhartic in NYSCAL Notes

The Advanced Warning System (AWS) is geared towards providing emergency information to agencies and providers that serve people with disabilities or people with access and functional needs with the understanding that emergency communication will be most effective when coordinated by service providers. We’ll collect some basic information about the organization and then when you submit the form we’ll get a notice that we need to approve your account from our end. And that’s all there is to it.

Signing up is easy, all you have to do is visit: www.advancewarningsystemnyc.org and click the Register button. Please register as many people as you feel would be appropriate to receive emergency information. Please forward this information along to any staff or agencies that you think it might be appropriate for.  I have also included a more in depth fact sheet about AWS.

If an individual (as opposed to an agency or staff member) would like to receive information directly we recommend that they sign up for Notify NYC which delivers information that targets individuals: https://a858-nycnotify.nyc.gov/notifynyc/

Thanks again for your interest in AWS. Feel free to reach out to Christopher Pagnotta (contact information below) if you have any questions.
